Prost on a slow weekday is a warm hug of an experience. The food is delicious and super hearty (so it ends up being a pretty good deal - we shared a jumbo pretzel for dinner with nothing else and still could barely finish it) and the beer selection is SO good. We went for the first time after going to Germany for the holidays and it’s really the only bar in Chicago I’ve been to that captures that jolly, friendly vibe of a small German Kneipe.

Delicious German bar food. If you have less than 4 people you probably only need 1/2 a pretzel, they are massive. The October fest beers are very tasty. When we went there was 11 on draft along with 15 other beers. If you’re a fan of German beer and food it’s a great spot.

Such a vibe and very good everything. The giant pretzel is truly massive but also tasty and satisfying, though a bit pricey, and for 2 people it’s probably not necessary. The beer cheese though was delicious. The smorgasbord was my favorite part, with a really good assortment of quality sausages and pickled vegetables. The beer is classic and served in the traditional german style mugs. Overall chill and pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Was really excited to visit a bar with German Bier on tap, they can be hard to find. The bier was delicious with a ton of options and the half pretzel (yes half) was just delicious. It’s worth the trip. Go visit Prost!
